Women's Health & Addiction

Comprehensive Treatment for Healthier Future

Addiction treatment is an individualized approach in attending to the needs of the patient from a cultural and biological standpoint. Women have unique needs based not only on biology but also environmental and sociological factors.

Women with substance use disorder tend to have PTSD more than men with substance use disorder.  The unique needs of women in recovery require specialist interventions that aid in the patient’s recovery.

Intensive Treatment Systems (ITS) partners with many organizations to ensure that Women are provided the resources and support services they need to be successful in treatment.  We have peer support staff who have lived experience in substance use disorder who can help women navigate the systems to access treatment options which will aid in their success.

Should you be admitted to an inpatient facility, we work closely with many local Residential Treatment facilities to ensure that you are able to continue receiving Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Pregnant women are given priority in getting the treatment necessary to cope with being in active addiction. Reducing the risk to mom and baby in treatment means coordinating care with medical providers, mental health providers, case managers, counselors and family members.

ITS has partnered with Banner Estrella NICU Department to be part of the Eat, Sleep, Console Program.  If you test positive for drugs when admitted, the NICU team will coordinate with ITS to start MMT.  We will provide treatment, services and support to you after your baby is born and this will continue following discharge from the hospital.

At the Intake appointment, all pregnant women are provided with a Binder full of amazing resources and information on services offered to pregnant women around the Valley.  These Binders help you keep track of your Treatment and your Pregnancy, Delivery, and beyond with helpful information on how to care for your baby and who can help.  You can keep a record of all your Clinic, Hospital, OBGYN, Pediatric and support group visits, having everything in one place for easy reference.  Its also a great tool for evidencing your commitment to treatment and your recovery.

Funding is available for all pregnant women, and women with children to receive treatment for drug and alcohol treatment.  For those who do not have insurance or who are under insured we have funding available from the Substance Use Block Grant (SUBG).  Please click on the link below for additional information.
