Intensive Treatment Systems, provides an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance use disorders and mental health for adults. The program is designed to individualize treatment services to meet the specific needs of each patient and his or her family. All treatment programs use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), and Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT). Assessment, service planning, and service delivery is strength-based, person-centered, family friendly, culturally and linguistically appropriate, clinically sound, and supervised.

Adult Recovery Team (ART)

Due to circumstance, there may be times when ART meetings are necessary for successful completion of IOP. According to Arizona Department of Health Services, ART meetings focus on the collaboration and engagement of the client, family, and others (guardians, social services, Department of Child Services, probation officers, or parole officers) who are significant in meeting the behavioral health needs of the client, including their active participation in decision making process and involvement in treatment.

Goals of Intensive Outpatient

  • Understanding disease of addiction
  • Increase time in sobriety
  • Learn skills to improve relationships with community support, family, and social supports
  • Recognize stages of change
  • Build a relapse prevention plan

When determining the client’s level of care, we use the guidelines set by the American Society and Addition Medicine (ASAM).

The initial service will include a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan formulation. Treatment will include individual counseling and group counseling. Outside participation in community-based recovery support groups may be required. The level of care assigned influences the length and frequency of services. Services include but are not limited to: group, family, couples, individual, therapies, psychiatric evaluation, medication monitoring, transportation services, and case management.
